The Spectacular Dancing Tent

DanceEast's Spiegeltent Tour will be the first of its kind in the eastern region. This large, Baroque style wooden construction features a dazzling interior of mirrored booths surrounding a wooden dance floor, creating the perfect intimate space for dance performances, workshops and classes.

A range of programmes will be on offer from children's workshops to tea dances for all ages, along with performances by national and international dance artists. The tent will be an opportunity to try something different in a fun and relaxed environment.

The tour is taking place in rural and urban areas across East Anglia: Christchurch Park - Ipswich, Easton Farm Park, Castle Park - Colchester, Museum of East Anglian Life – Stowmarket, and the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds.

Ufford Bygones and Fun Day

Last year, £8500 was raised for the Saint Elizabeths Hospice. This year will be bigger and even more fun

Location: Crown Farm, off Crownfields, Ufford, Near Woodbridge, Suffolk
Under 5s and over 100 free entry.

There will be a wide range of games and activities for the whole family, with many great prizes to be won. You will have the opportunity to drive a crazy mini through the obstacle course (it goes in the direction opposite to which you steer), play target golf or target football, or simply have your face painted. You’ll also get the chance to scoop up a plastic duck from its watery abode using a digger, or have a go at archery, or bowl for a china pig. A large programme of bygones and attractions have been lined-up, including steam and traction engines, static displays of vintage tractors and old motorcycles, over 150 classic vehicles from the 1920s through to the 1970s, and minis from the local mini club. We even have a model-T Ford. There’s a children’s driving school, a giant slide, and of course, as you’d expect, there is be the ever-popular bouncy castle and there will be in excess of 40 arts and crafts stalls from local businesses.

The Fire Brigade (Woodbridge station) will give displays of vehicle rescue techniques. Musical performances by the hugely popular Samboomba samba band, Skin the Fish, The Back Porch Band, and Zahara Belly Dance will entertain you. A prize-draw with cash prizes totalling over £200, will take place on the day.

Refreshments, including traditional ploughman’s lunch are available throughout the day for a small charge. There is a hog roast and a BBQ selling hot-dogs and beef burgers, all of which are sourced locally.

Hadleigh Charity Music Festival

Tickets can also be purchased from the Clubhouse from Monday 6th July to Friday 10th July 6pm-8pm and Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July 6pm-8pm. Tickets are priced: Adults £10, Children under 16 £5, Children under 12 £3 and Children under 5 go FREE.

Bands palying throughout the day are The Smokin' Hogs (2pm to 4pm), Skarpa Masters (4pm to 6pm), Deja-Vu (6pm to 8pm)and Mel Stevens & The Strollers (8pm 'til finish)). There will be a beer tent, bouncy castles and burger bar, portable toilets will be on site and the clubhouse will become a Ladies Lounge with toilet facilities for ladies and young children.

Festival goers are asked to bring their own fold-up chairs as seating will not be provided.

All profits from ticket sales will be donated to the Somersham Ward (Ipswich Hospital) and St.Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich.

XtremeFest 09

At Brackenberry Fort, Felixstowe

Xtremefest was an idea between Keith Atkinson, British Windsurfing Champion, and Suffolk Coastal District Council. It began in 2007 as a small event attracting 250 people with opportunities for people to try windsurfing, climbing and skateboarding. There were several information stalls, offering advice on community safety and healthy living. In 2008, event attracted a throughput of over 2000 people, with 30 activities and information stands.

Xtremefest is a one day event about encouraging local people to discover something new on their own doorstep, to install a sense of pride about where they live and to encourage them to share that enthusiasm with visitors. Suffolk Coastal District Council hosts the event in partnership with Alton Water Sports Centre, the Royal Yachting Association Onboard Development Officer, Felixstowe TV and Keith Atkinson (the British Windsurfing Champion). The event is held in Felixstowe using the grassed area on the cliff top and also utilising the sea below.

Xtremefest is a free entry event, with a small charge for the activities and a charge for merchandise.

EACH provides care and support for life-threatened children and their families at the Ipswich Children’s Hospice, and in family homes throughout the region.
