Joff Hopkins
Join Joff weekday nights from 7pm.
It would be fair to say that Joff Hopkins has done a bit of everything - in previous lives, he's worked in a catalogue store's dusty stockroom (he wasn't allowed near the customers), cleaned toilets at a campsite, patrolled car parks, and even been the voice of a talking cardboard cutout (with someone else's body on - Joff really does have a face for radio). He's most recently spent several years on the radio in Berkshire, where he once read the travel news dressed in a pink tutu - but he doesn't like to talk about that too much. He'd much rather impress you with a story about an interview with Michael Howard that revealed Mr. Howard knew very little about 80s pop culture.
When he's not playing great songs on the radio, Joff enjoys a bit of photography, 'doing dinner' with friends, beating his wife at Mario Kart on the Wii, and letting off a bit of steam in the gym or pool.
Favourite album?
It would be too difficult to choose just one... therefore I'll go for 'Beautiful World' by Take That (what a come-back album!), Daft Punk's 'Discovery' and Jeff Wayne's musical version of The War Of The Worlds.
Favourite TV show?
Spooks - great for sofa-bound adrenaline junkies like me!
Favourite film?
Am I allowed to answer with 'Police Academy'?
Favourite food?
You can't go wrong with roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds! I'm also a strict vegetarian - no meat, no fish, and no cow belly in my meals, thanks!
Favourite place in the world?
Either London or New York - despite growing up in London's suburbs, it's funny how you can always find somewhere new to go. And there's some great pubs, too!
