Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at the West Bank Terminal of Ipswich Marina this morning, 30th July.

They received the call at 11.22am reporting the incident at a gravel washing plant there.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire said: "Potentially hazardous cylinders that were being housed at the plant were removed and the electricity to the building was isolated while crews fought the fire."

Once the initial fire was extinguished, crews remained to ensure there were no hot spots.

The incident was brought to a close just after 1pm.

Suffolk Police were notified, but their attendance was not required.
