To support food banks across the county, which provide a vital service to many families, Suffolk County Council has given them a share of £60,000.
It is to allow them to keep well-stocked during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
With the money, the County Council says the food banks will be able to restock directly from supermarkets and wholesalers.
Cabinet member for communities at the council, Paul West, said: "It is now more important than ever to look after those most in need in our neighbourhoods.
"This donation is one small part of the extremely valuable work that is being done in our communities with our partners across Suffolk."
