Three teenagers charged with murder following death of man in Ipswich

Police have confirmed three 16 year-old boys have been charged with murder in connection with an incident in Ipswich.

Officers were called at 12.15am on Sunday 23rd February, following reports that a man had been assaulted outside Kebabpizza in St Matthews Street.

Police found a man lying on the ground and administered first aid before paramedics arrived - he was then rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The victim, who's been provisionally identified as 45 year-old Richard Day from Ipswich, died in hospital on Monday 24th February.

Three local teenagers were arrested following the incident and subsequently released on bail - they've now been rearrested on suspicion of murder.

Two further males, aged 36 and 27, were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm - they've been released on bail and both are due to return to police on Friday 20th March.
